THIS IS A PRIVATE LISTING. Did you know that the word "Capodimonte" literally means "top of the mountain"? Well, the short version of the story is that in 1738, when Charles VII of Naples took as his bride Princess Maria Amelia Christina of Saxony, he received as a portion of a dowry, Meissen porcelain. As a connoisseur of art, Charles decided that such beauty should be produced in Italy and, thereafter, in 1743, he commissioned the Royal Manufactory of Porcelain on the grounds of the royal palace, which was perched on top of a hill and soon it became known a the Capodimonte.

Exchanges must be pre-authorized by our Customer Service Department. Since most of the items we sell are one of kind, we MAY not have replacements. All Capodimonte pieces are fragile and a great care is given to packaging this merchandise before it is accepted by the transportation company. Therefore, should any breakage occurs, we must process the claim with the Transportation Company.

Please then contact the transportation company and inform them of the damage and request an inspection.
